How to use the archive
- Choose a month. The newest month is shown first.
- Find the day. Days are listed from the newest to the oldest.
- Choose a game. The link shows your progress for that day: not started, started, the number of solved puzzles, or solved.
- On the game page, choose the level or size as usual. Previous day and Next day move through the dates.
The list ends today, by the date of your device. Later days are not listed and cannot be opened by changing the address of a page.
What the progress means

The line above the list counts the solved puzzles of the month. A day has six puzzles, so a month of 30 days has 180.
Archive puzzles and the streak
A puzzle from the archive is saved as solved when you finish it, with the time you needed. It does not change the streak, because the streak counts days on which a puzzle was solved on its own date.
Example: on 20 October you solve the Sudoku of 12 October. The archive shows it as solved. The streak is the same as before, and 12 October still does not count as a played day.
Where the list comes from
The page knows the first and the last date for which puzzles have been published. It shows the days from the first date up to today, or up to the last date if today is later. The progress is read from the storage of your browser.
The list itself needs no request to a server. The puzzle is requested when you open a game page, as one file per game and month.
Common mistakes
- Looking for tomorrow’s puzzle. It opens tomorrow.
- Expecting progress from another device. Each browser keeps its own progress.
- Clearing the site data to fix a display problem. That removes all progress and the streak.
Frequently asked questions
- How far back does the archive go?
- To the first day of the site. Puzzles are not removed, so every published day stays playable.
- Are archive puzzles different from the daily ones?
- No. They are the same puzzles with the same guarantees. A date always gives the same puzzle.
- Why does the list need JavaScript?
- The list depends on the date of your device and on the progress in your browser. Neither is known when the page is prepared.
- How many unfinished puzzles are kept?
- The boards of the 60 most recent unfinished puzzles, by puzzle date. Older unfinished boards are removed to keep the stored data small. Solved puzzles are always kept.
